Requirements:

A teaching credential from the State of Calfornia with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Authorization. 

All candidates will be subject to a criminal background check through the California Department of Justice and the FBI as well as submit a current TB test.

Job Description Summary:

The Special Education Teacher’s instructional duties include, but are not limited to:  writing IEPs (Individual Education Plan) and ITPs (Individual Transition Plan); assist in the development of BSPs, developing academic and behavioral programs; delivering instruction in the domains of community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, independent living skills and social skills; reporting student progress; developing classroom schedules; maintaining student data systems; and creating and facilitating student transition plans.  Instruction will emphasize acquisition of functional and academic skills in the least restrictive manner and setting as specified in the IEP. Responsible for supervision and behavioral management of staff and students.
